Every rule we apply
The whole rule set, with the document each rule is read from. No account, no sign-in, no gate.
These are our readings of the regulations. They are not the regulations.
The notice published with this rule set
These are Laddoo's readings of the regulations, not the regulations themselves. The Gazette of India is the authority. Nothing here is endorsed by FSSAI. To report an error in a rule, cite the rule code and the clause you believe we have misread.
Every rule listed here is Laddoo’s plain-language reading of a published Indian instrument, written so that a shopper can act on it while holding a packet. A reading is an interpretation, and ours carries no legal force. Where our wording and the instrument differ, the instrument is right and we are wrong: the notification in the Gazette of India, and the text the issuing authority publishes, are the authority.
Laddoo is not a regulator and is not accredited by one. We have no connection to the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India, and nothing here is endorsed, approved, licensed or reviewed by FSSAI or by any government body. A flag on a product page is a prompt to read the pack for yourself - never a determination that a food, a label or a company is unlawful, and never medical advice.
If a rule here misreads its source, tell us. We will correct it and record the correction against the rule, so that the change is visible to the next person who reads this page.

Fires when 100 g of a product carries a whole adult day of sodium, per the WHO daily figure. A fact about the pack, not a judgement on it.
What is not built yet
- 5 stored copies cannot be downloaded from this page. We publish the SHA-256 of each, so you can hash the publisher’s file and compare it with ours - but we do not serve our own bytes. Each document card says why: for most there is no public route to the store, and for the ICMR-NIN guidelines the publisher’s copyright notice restricts electronic reproduction.
- 5 of 5 documents carry no Gazette number and no Gazette date. A Gazette number is a legal identifier a reviewer will look up, and one we have not read off the notification would be a guess wearing a citation’s clothes - so those fields state their absence instead.
- No rule names the person who reviewed it. Nothing in the schema records one, so 13 of 13 rules say so rather than naming a reviewer we cannot evidence.
- Rule statements are in English only. They are not machine-translated, because a machine translation of a regulatory statement is the version a reader would rely on.
